The glue between the tools you already use.

Your bank, payroll, payments and books software each hold part of the picture. Granary brings them into one record, checks them against each other, and lets you ask about any of it. It works alongside your books software and never replaces it.

  • Where the money movedBank, payroll, paymentsEvery transaction comes from the source, with its date and amount, so answers rest on what actually happened.
  • How you classify itYour books softwareDigits, QuickBooks, Xero or a spreadsheet: Granary learns your categories and asks only about what's unclear.
  • Anything elseA file you uploadExports from any tool, payroll registers, bank statements. Checked against their own totals before they're used.
  • Granary One record, explained Switch books software any time; your history and your answers stay.

Every answer shows its work.

Figures are worked out by code from your own records, never written by an AI. Law is quoted and checked against the text for your tax year before it reaches you. When something turns on a judgment, Joseph says so and leaves the call to you.

Computed
Worked out by code from your records. The same inputs give the same result every time.
Cited
Quoted from the tax code, regulations or IRS guidance, checked against the text for that year.
Your call
A decision only you can make. Joseph lays out the reasons on each side and gives his read.

Joseph speaks first.

You don't have to know what to ask. Granary watches your deadlines and your records and tells you what needs you.

Coming up
Estimated tax, 1099s, your business return and state filings, each with its date and whether you're ready.
I noticed
A payout that doesn't match a deposit, a contractor without a W-9, owner pay that looks out of line with profit.
Filing
Your return prepared line by line, with each figure's source, as a package for your CPA. Filing straight from Granary follows once our IRS approval is in.

We built it because we needed it.

We run LocateFaith, the directory of Christian-owned businesses. When we asked simple questions about our own books (were our past returns filed, who needs a 1099, what do we owe and when) the answers took time and cost money. We looked for a place that would answer from our own records, with the workings. We couldn't find one, so we built Granary.

A Christian company, run by the Book.

The name comes from Genesis 41: Joseph stored grain in Egypt's good years so there was enough in the lean ones.

Granary serves and hires people of every faith and none.

  • A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is his delight.

    Proverbs 11:1 (ESV)

    Honest numbers

Every figure says where it came from. Granary won't hide income, backdate a document or relabel a payment to lower a bill, even when asked.

  • That food shall be a reserve for the land against the seven years of famine.

    Genesis 41:36 (ESV)

    Plan ahead

Granary tells you what's coming and what to set aside before a tax bill is due.

Questions

Do I need an accountant?

Not for the routine work. Granary is built for owners who'd rather do it themselves with clear answers. When a decision turns on judgment and the stakes are high, Joseph says so and suggests a CPA.

Who files my return?

At first, your CPA files it from the package Granary prepares. Once Granary's IRS e-file approval is in, you can file straight from Granary.

What does it cost?

Plans include a monthly allowance of answers. We'll publish prices before we open.

Can I switch books software later?

Yes. Your transactions and how you've classified them live in Granary, so your history and answers carry over.

Request an invite.

Granary opens by invitation, one company at a time, so each one gets set up properly.

We'll email you when there's a place. No payment now.
